Best Communication Award at IX Annual Congress of the Spanish Society of Ocular Inflammation (SEIOC)

We are thrilled to share that presentation “Preliminary Results of a New Automatic Cellularity Detection System Using High-Resolution Ultrasound and Deep Learning in Anterior Uveitis” won the Best Communication Award in the IX Annual Congress of the Spanish Society of Ocular Inflammation (SEIOC), which took place on November 16th and 17th at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid. This recognition highlights the importance of our work and the impact it will generate.

María Calatayud Riera, a resident in the Ophthalmology Department of the Germans Trías i Pujol Hospital in Badalona (Barcelona), presented the first results of our project. These results correspond to Phase I of the clinical trial for the validation of our device, Neosonics, in its application for the early detection and objective monitoring of the response to treatment of anterior uveitis.

This first proof-of-concept phase was conducted in collaboration with the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital, with the invaluable contribution of Dr. J. Ramon Anglada and his team. Phase II of the trial, which will focus on efficacy, is scheduled to commence throughout 2024. More details on this phase will be announced soon.

The abstract submitted for the congress was accepted as an oral presentation in the session on Thursday, November 16, from 09:00 to 10:40, under the category “Free Presentations I.” Winning the Best Communication Award is a testament to the dedication and innovation of our team.
