Sara Ajanovic, medical officer at Kriba, MD, Pediatrician, PhD candidate, clinical research fellow at ISGlobal is a speaker at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH).
She will present the Neosonics® proof-of-concept multicenter clinical study in Spain, Mozambique and Morocco.

Meningitis is a potentially lethal disease, especially in neonates and infants, who are the most vulnerable and may show non-specific symptoms. Our research addresses the need to reduce the large global inequity in screening for meningitis in infants, and seeks to make non-invasive, automated screening accessible to everyone around the world.
The ASTMH Annual Meeting is one of the leading international forums for exchanging scientific and clinical advancements in tropical medicine, hygiene, and global health. With a strong focus on neglected tropical diseases and emerging infectious diseases, another key topic of the meeting is global health equity, specifically how experts and policymakers can address health disparities and promote equitable access to healthcare worldwide.
Dr. Quique Bassat, Kriba clinical advisor and director at ISGlobal, is also a speaker at the annual meeting, where he will co-chair the symposium, “Can We Expect Triple/Multiple Artemisinin-Based Combination Therapies for Malaria in the Near Future?” Dr. Bassat, a renowned Spanish pediatrician, epidemiologist, and meningitis expert, is recognized for his global health work, particularly in malaria, pediatric infectious diseases, and child health. He focuses on strengthening health systems in low-resource settings by leading clinical trials and advancing evidence-based practices to improve diagnostics, treatment, and healthcare infrastructure for vulnerable children.
